Local functions as a beer bar (serving all Local house brews), as well as a production 10-barrel brewery serving 100 select draft and retail accounts in the Bay Area. We have an extremely talented and tight team at Local, and as we grow, we're looking to bring aboard a key member to our Brewing Team.

Required Skills & Experience

This role includes all aspects of brewery production cellar work, including CIP of the brewhouse, fermentation/conditioning vessels, keg cleaning and maintenance, transfer of product, carbonation of finished product in time for release, kegging of product for accounts and in-house beer bar -- all with strict adherence to standard operating procedures set forth in training. Assist in brews and eventually lead brews.

As a key member of the Brewer Team, you will provide direct support to our Head Brewer and maintain day-to-day brewery operations. You will be responsible for maintaining a clean and sanitary environment, also managing all tap lines and inventory for our onsite Beer Bar. Upon mastering the cellar duties, there's the opportunity to assist the Head Brewer in brews and learn aspects of brewing on our 10bbl system.

Daily responsibilities include:
• Daily CIP of brewhouse, fermentation tanks and bright beer tanks
• Daily cleaning and maintenance of kegs
• A dedication towards maintaining a clean, neat, and safe work area
• General cleaning of cellar and brewhouse areas including floors, vessels, piping, etc.
• Periodic handling of hazardous chemicals
• Continually maintain all brewery/production areas including equipment - (mill room, brewhouse, fermentation, spent grain bins, as well as all walkways and driveways around or leading to brewery)
• Monitor and take readings of CO2 levels in beer
• Monitor and take gravity readings daily
• Document daily activities and inventory in logs
• Assist with canning of beer
• Volunteer to pour beer and represent the brewery at beer festivals
• Be courteous and professional when representing the brewery (on-site or off-site)
• Work with FOH team members to provide the best beer experience for customers
• Occasionally deliver beer to accounts and provide line cleans for accounts as needed

Minimum requirements:
• At least one (1) year of cellar work experience at a 7bbl brewery or larger; this position does not require previous experience brewing, although knowledge of beer and the brewing process is a key aspect of this role
• Familiarity with draft systems and operation of serving tanks
• A passion for beer and brewing, and unwavering focus on quality
• Must be exceptionally detail oriented
• Must be able to work independently, as well as with a team
• Ability to problem solve when challenges arise
• Respectful, Team-player mentality
• Must be punctual and able to arrive to work on time and keep a production schedule
• Embrace changes in procedure geared towards ongoing improvements to process
• This is a very physical role. Must be able to lift 55lb. at least 60" high on a daily basis; occasionally lift up to 170b

Brewery Beertender (Sundays +)

Local Brewing Co. is looking for a driven, part-time Beertender/Server to join our brewery and beer bar team. **This role is key to growing our beer bar/taproom business, so we are looking for an enthusiastic hustler to join our high-performing team providing a clean, fun, brewery and beer bar experience with excellent service in SoMa.**

We're a an award-winning brewery located here in SoMa, SF two blocks from AT&T Park. Local has a growing reputation of great beer, awesome service and a fun and modern vibe. We want to bring passionate people on board who want to add to our fun and positive beer experience. We have a firm focus on beer and exceptional service to provide an unparalleled experience for our customers. We serve a variety of rotating beers brewed here at our brewery, and we also serve a casual, but well-executed menu of sausages and sandwiches.

Required Skills & Experience

We're looking for a friendly & flexible beertender/server -- who loves beer and wants to work at a brewery -- to join our growing team. A geniune focus on customer service, and an interest in beer and food service is key for this role. This person will be a lead beertender, which entails excellent beer service at our main beer bar pouring sixteen rotating beers for key shifts -- including prime closing, opening and serving shifts. We have a culture centered on customers with a "team mentality," so this team member will also be responsible for getting out behind the bar to do floor service of our nine, six-top tables during quieter shifts.

Beertender Responsibilities
- Serving beer properly from our 16-tap tower.
- Taking food and beverage orders at the bar in an often chaotic and fast-paced environment.
- Front to back service -- order taking, serving, bussing food and glassware.
- Learn profiles of all beers on tap and food menu to help customers select meals and beers that match their preferences.
- Enthusiastically answering customers' questions about our beers and the brewing process.
- Creating a fun and engaging atmosphere.
- Managing/leading bar operations while behind the bar -- from pouring beer to stocking glassware.
- Understand and follow bar operations, including keeping an impeccably clean bar service area.
- Adhere to all alcohol service regulations and requirements.
- Sharing customer feedback with others during team meetings.

Server Responsibilities
- All of the above, plus:
- Greet customers with a friendly and enthusiastic attitude
- Keeping bar, floor and bathrooms clean and inviting.
- Provide excellent customer service of food & beer to nine, six-top tables
- Work closely with beertenders to ensure correct orders are executed properly
- Working collaboratively with brewer, kitchen staff, fellow beertenders and founders.
-Provide excellent table service to guests including inputting orders in the POS, running food and drinks, opening and closing checks, clearing plates and glassware.
- Complete sidework and ad hoc tasks as requested.

- Service experience is preferred, but not required -- with the right motivation and interest, we can train for this role; experience in a fast-paced environment is helpful.
- Able to work Sundays and fill-in shifts (shifts will solo shifts and/or a blend of opening, floor service and closing shifts TBD)
- A clean freak.
- Possess basic math skills and the ability to handle money.
- Commitment to quality service, food and beverage knowledge.
- Experience with bar operations is helpful.
- Experience as a 'key holder' is preferred.
- Experience managing people is helpful.
- Familiarity with POS systems.
- Natural "jump in and help"/Team Player mentality.
- Professional and positive attitude.
- Punctual & Trustworthy.
- Interest/passion about beer and/or learning about beer.
- Cicerone Beer Server Certification is preferred, but will train and provide for the right candidate.
